New Jersey Private Well Testing Act You need to be aware of the Private Well Testing Act (PWTA) if you are involved in a New Jersey real estate transaction where the property's water supply is a private well. (Some public well properties are also affected.) The PWTA requires specific water analysis to be performed by a NJ-certified laboratory prior to closing the property sale.
